About Us

The Gladesville Chamber of Commerce, a member of the NSW Chamber of Commerce is an Association of business people, representing all of the businesses in the Gladesville district.

'The Businesses" include shops, professional practices, restaurants, banks, hotels, small wholesalers, auto services and all other businesses that supply products or services to the public.

Its three main areas of work are -

1) Promotion. Our essential task is to promote all of the businesses to each other and to the people of the community whom we serve;

2) Protection. We endeavour to protect the members from influences that might adversely affect their businesses and call for benefits such as extra parking, beautification of our shopping area, etc.  We involve ourselves with the work of both Hunters Hill and Ryde Councils;

3) Support to the Community in many ways. Each year the Chamber holds a community Christmas Festival of two events. 

The first is Carol Singing by Gladesville Public School Choir in Trim Place and the turning on of Christmas Lights to herald in the Christmas Season.                                                      The second is a Christmas Market Day in the area outside and within Gladesville Shopping Village and Gladesville Arcade. Community Groups and Shopkeepers set up stalls, giving a local and Christmas atmosphere to Gladesville.

From 1st July 2007 the DiscoverHuntersHill website has been marketed to Gladesville businesses and professionals by the non-profit Discover Hunters Hill Association. The Association covers the whole of the Gladesville business district as well as Hunters Hill, and has secured the domain name www.gladesville.nsw.au.

The Chair of the Association is the Vice President of the Gladesville Chamber.

Businesses can take an enhanced listing on the site if they have an existing website or they can take up webpage/s. This is a proving to be a very popular site and the cost of subscription is low.

Gladesville Chamber encourages all Gladesville businesses to take a presence on this site.
